DC FAST CHARGE

DC fast charging, also known as Level 3 charging, is a type of electric vehicle (EV) charging technology that provides a much faster charging rate compared to standard AC charging (Level 1 and Level 2)

Key Features of DC Fast Charging:

Direct Current (DC):

Unlike Level 1 and Level 2 chargers, which supply alternating current (AC) that the car's onboard charger must convert to DC, DC fast chargers deliver direct current (DC) directly to the battery. This bypasses the onboard charger, allowing for much faster charging.

High Power Output:

DC fast chargers typically deliver power ranging from 50 kW to 350 kW or more, depending on the charger and the vehicle's capability. This allows EVs to charge much more quickly than with AC chargers.

Charging Speed:

DC fast charging can charge an EV battery from 20% to 80% in as little as 20 to 40 minutes, depending on the vehicle and charger. This makes it ideal for long-distance travel or quick top-ups.
